Kitten Saga

You meet up with a litter mate who was in a fight and has been recovering from some injuries. You would like to find a place to live. Rumors have been circulating about adoptions, but there is also something called a cat colony. Where would you rather live? [[Join a cat colony]] [[Turn on the charm and get adopted]]

You are reaching adolescence and those feelings are taking over. You encounter a ring of feral cats. You know you can take one of them in a wrestling match. Who will you challenge? [[The Scrapper]] [[The Lasher]]

There is a box with a blanket on the edge of the forest. You feel a pressing need to rest. [[Settle in box]] [[Sleep in cave]]

You come nose to nose with the Scrapper. She is a fierce momma cat and you have trespassed on her territory. Her coat is uneven but the fur she has bristles up. You hear her groaning as she squats on her haunches, preparing to attack. [[Run!]] [[Stay and fight]]

The Lasher is known for lashing his tail back and forth but his thump is worse than his bite. You win the wrestling match easily! He stumbles away in shame, with his tail between his legs. Why don't you go see if any of your relatives are still roaming around the forest? [[Look for another litter mate]]

This is a somewhat satisfactory existence. You must turn up on someone's doorstep every day to receive your food. [[Show up on a lucky doorstep]]

You kick back and enjoy a life of happiness as a domestic cat.

Your humans are all out of the house during the day, as your young lady owner is at school and the parent owners are at work. A sense of ennui overtakes you and you yearn for adventure. You must escape. [[Slip outside through the screen]] [[Slip outside through the door!]]

Ha ha! You're free. You get to roam around in the grass and sniff the breezes whenever you want. This is what it means to be a cat. You're six months old, a teenager now and you are developing the features of your gender. As an adolescent you're ready for some risk taking. You have been begging at the right door! The home owner picks you up and inspects you, then lets you inside the house. Whoa, you hit the jackpot! There are plenty of places for climbing and a path all around the walls of the room near the ceiling for cats to walk along. The home is furnished with a catio and a screened-in tunnel connecting the house to the back yard. No need to escape from this fantasy.

You turn and run as fast as you can, thinking it was a bad idea to get in a fight. Why don't you go see if any of your relatives are still roaming around the forest? [[Look for another litter mate]]

The minute you enter the battle, you start to regret your foolishness. The Scrapper has mercilessly pounced on top of you and torn a across your nose with her claws. She does not permit interlopers to threaten her kittens. You can feel your nose swelling and your ear is warm and damp from a cut. You cower in a crawl of shame away from the fighting grounds. Unfortunately, a fox has the same idea. When your sister sees the fox, she drops the bird and runs. Your choices now are to tough it out and keep hunting, or turn back toward the family grounds. What an adventure! Surely there are more prey to hunt. You keep hunting and racing until dark, and you realize you are lost. You must get some rest. Do you settle in to a nearby shelter, or cross the forest path to sleep in a small cave? [[Settle in box]] [[Sleep in cave]]

You wake up and discover that your mother and most of your litter mates are together in the cave. You are curious and want to explore the perimeter of the forest. You depart toward the end where you can smell human food to find out what is there. Are you looking for food scraps, or "cruisin for a bruisin'"? [[Get in a fight]] [[Look for food]]

It was a good decision to charm the humans. Your next step is to go with a "Good Samaritan" to an adoption center where you will be able to find a home. [[Get taken for adoption by a "Good Samaritan"]]

You and your litter mate each have your own food bowl, water bowl, cushy bed, and your own litter boxes. The family has a little girl who plays with you and brushes your coats. There are plenty of toys and a cat tree by the window sill where you can watch birds and squirrels to your heart's content. This is a nice arrangement. You could live like this. One day, you hear hissing near the window. Your litter mate has spotted a strange orange cat interloping on your patio. Your fur tenses up and you can't help but moan. It's a standoff through the glass. You could take this fight to the next level, though. There is one window where the screen has become detached and you could probably squeeze out to confront the trespasser. When you wake up, you discover that you had fallen asleep in a trap. You have been taken to a clinic, had an operation, and had tattoos put on your tummies. There is another cat with the tip cut from his ear. Wait! Your litter mate has been clipped the same way. What an unpleasant surprise, but how do you react? [[Purr when the humans bring you food]] [[Fall back to sleep next to your litter mate]] [[Bite the technician's arm and cower at the back of your cage]]

You find a community of cats that are living in the same general area near the woods. They are pretty comfortable because humans drop by and feed them every once in a while, but they still live outside and keep to themselves. A happy ending for you!
